Susan A. Royal stops by to visit. Join us for the conversation!
Today, my good friend and fellow author Susan A. Royal pays a visit to Stories That Sweep You Away to talk about her latest book.  Born in west Texas and raised in south Texas, Susan shares a 100-year-old farmhouse in a small east Texas town with a ghost who harmonizes with her son when he plays guitar. She is a mother of three and grandmother of five unique and special children. Her family is rich with characters, both past and present. Susan loves taking her readers through all kinds of adventures.
Welcome, Susan. I’m delighted you stopped by.
It's good to be back for another visit. Thanks for inviting me. First, let me tell you a little about my newest book.  Xander's Tangled Web is a young adult fantasy. I collaborated with my son on the main character. Xander is a little person with a keen mind who likes to solve mysteries. It comes in handy when he's hired to investigate Princess Mena's disappearance. The case starts out fairly simple, but things get a bit complicated before all is said and done.
You are fortunate to have a son who would work with you. I believe those who surround themselves with young people remain young in heart and spirit themselves, and that is an important facet to what we bring to our stories.  So, let’s take a quick sneak peak.
After a late night visit to Battington’s marketplace, Princess Mena vanishes without a trace. Merchants are frantic, because King Leander has called for a curfew and postponed the Spring Festival until further notice. Certain his former constable is the man for the job, the mayor hires Xander to investigate, hoping he can solve the mystery in a hurry so things can go back to normal. But Xander’s not so sure that’s possible, because there’s romance involved, and he knows when that happens folks who are normally very sensible seem to lose all reason. In addition to sorting out truths, half-truths and outright lies, he must deal with gypsies, love potions and an illegal moonshine operation before he gets to the bottom of things.
This sounds delightful, Susan, and for those of us without young adults—well, here’s where we can exercise our young at heart alter egos.  Thanks, so much for stopping by.
